Gender Diversity Initiatives to Change the IT Industry with Amy Lynch

Amy Lynch at Agile Yorkshire

Men have dominated the IT sector for many years to the detriment of the industry. It is important for everyone that the people who are creating solutions with software represent the mix of people who are using this software to solve their problems. The National Centre for Women and Information Technology publish information and resources that show the economic importance of correct gender balance in technology companies generally including a research summary of findings on gender diversity and business performance. Similar resources and initiatives can also be found on the European Centre for Women and Technology website.

Amy Lynch came to speak at our Agile Yorkshire Ada Day celebration event to talk about some of the initiatives that companies within the IT sector could take as well as things that some businesses are already doing to fix the gender imbalance.
